One of the biggest challenges as a bariatric post op is to find quick yet delicious meals to rely on that we actually LIKE to eat. I find that breakfast and lunch are the most difficult for me as it is too easy to skip breakfast and then fall into the take out trap with co-workers if we don’t plan in advance.
Almond Accents are sliced roasted and flavored almonds that add big flavor and crunch to so many dishes.
Plain Roasted or Butter Toffee Glazed add incredible flavor to sweet dishes like yogurt or ricotta with preserves or fruit. While the Italian Parmesan Almond Accents are perfect for savory foods like yogurt or ricotta with diced cucumbers or sliced grape tomatoes. Sprinkle Almond Accents on top of chicken, tuna, egg, and shrimp salads to put them over the top!
Even the sweet sounding flavors have just one carb per generous 1 tablespoon serving – so this product adds a lot to the flavor profile of a dish without taking us off our path.
For a superb supper, brush flounder or tilapia filets with olive oil, sprinkle with Almond Accents Roasted Garlic Caesar and bake for 10 minutes in a preheated 375 degree oven, or until done. You will think you are dining in a fine restaurant! My very favorite breakfast is a scoop of Calabro Ricotta with a tablespoon of Natures Hollow Sugar Free Apricot Preserves and sprinkled with Almond Accents!
