You can either sit around and stew, or you can make the choice to take action. If it’s a bill you can’t pay, whining and worrying won’t satisfy your creditor. If it’s an argument with your husband, brooding won’t bring things to resolution.

The truth is that none of these situations will get better if you respond by stuffing yourself with food or go off the deep end eating things you know will hurt your weight loss.

Stop living reactively and begin to choose the right attitude and the right behavior to generate the right results. Remember that action–not reaction–gets meaningful, constructive results. No one ever climbed a hill just by looking at it. You can’t get anywhere unless you start.

When you’re accountable for your problems and their solutions, you are an agent of change.
