  • 4 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 4 cups chicken broth Swansons Natural Goodness Chicken Broth is a good choice
  • 2 cups beef broth Swansons Certified Organic Beef Broth is a good choice
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  1. Saute onions and garlic in the butter and olive oil until lightly browned and caramelized, 25 to 30 minutes.
  2. Add white wine, chicken and beef broth and cook for 25 to 30 minutes.
  3. Add ¼ teaspoon of the nutmeg, or to taste - season with salt and pepper.
