I hiccup after I've been eating for a bit, does that happen to anyone else?
What do we do about taking protein powder on a flight? Cruise? Out of the country?
This is a very common question in our Facebook Groups, so don’t feel bad if you’ve wondered this too!
Lots of dietitians *believe* this is true, when it is actually NOT. The fact is our body sucks up the amount of protein that it NEEDS at any given time - it doesn't turn off or automatically STOP at 20g or 30g or 40g.
Most doctors say okay for you to have wine IF you are at least one year post op.
As for liquid of choice. It is completely up to your preference and what your intentions are for weight loss. This is about being Mindful of Calories but you have to LIKE the taste too.
I didn't say anything bad, I was just trying to find out who else drinks the protein I buy at Walmart. I thought this was a Support Group!
I had bariatric surgery in 2001 - back then there was SOY PROTEIN. Funky, beany, stinky, SOY BEAN protein. Yuk. You dealt with it. Done.
When comments are closed on a thread, no one should ever take it personally or think they’ve done anything ‘wrong’ as that’s not usually the case.
No! Muscle doesn't weigh any more than anything else. 1 lb of muscle weighs the same as 1 lb of fat.
This is an amazing question asked often on both our support group pages and one member summed it up perfectly!
Years ago, back when people had never heard of bariatric surgery, some doctors offices gave their patients 'bariatric cards'. These cards assisted us if we ever needed help in explaining our surgery for medical needs.
Many members of faith do not want to sit out when it is time for Communion but are concerned that they cannot physically handle the wafer or wine. We have the definitive answer for you.
I feel better than I thought I would. I am looking down and can't believe this is my stomach - it's so flat. The doctor told me to not lift anything more than 10 lbs, but other than that what's the story if I feel good?
I had my surgery in 2001 meaning I am far enough out of surgery where I should be able to get all my protein from food - and in theory I can. However, if I did not drink an Inspire protein drink in the morning or during the day, I would be eating all day long. It's just too much food, even for me.
I am 7 months post op and my beautiful long hair is falling out in handfuls.
Ouch. Sadly this is an all too common comment written when someone PROUDLY shares a photo of their amazing meal in our Facebook Support Groups.
WHY DON'T YOU PUBLISH NUTRITION INFORMATION OR SERVING SIZES WITH YOUR RECIPES???
When can I have coffee? Anyone else told no coffee?
Can we absorb vitamins and minerals through our skin by using one of those multivitamin patches I have heard of?
WHEN HAVING BARIATRIC SURGERY, EITHER PRE OP OR POST OP, THIS IS THE ULTIMATE CLEAR LIQUID. YOU WON’T MIND THE DAYS OR WEEKS ON A RESTRICTED DIET IF YOU HAVE HOMEMADE BROTH.
I just had my first post op check up and they released me to eat Pureés, what about scrambled eggs?
What's wrong with taking Children's Vitamins?
Which sweetener is best to use after bariatric surgery? I don't like artificial sweeteners, can I use Honey or just a little regular sugar?
Every day someone in our Facebook Group asks HOW a Bariatric Regain even happens. How is it that people go from being so desperate to lose weight that they forget and manage to gain the weight back that they fought so very hard to lose in the first place? This was posted here and it's EXACTLY how Bariatric Regain starts.
