It was 33 degrees here in Fort Lauderdale this morning, and the entire world was procuring ingredients for soup at Whole Foods. I was no different as I picked up some fresh and perfect ingredients for classic New England chowder.
The salad makes the super moist salmon even more delicious and creamy for a perfect post op meal.
Salmon is very simple to cook, moist and easy to eat for those who have had bariatric surgery. It is also a beautiful plate for a sit down holiday meal.

I roast my turkey breast side down, so it is very moist, plus the creamy Greek yogurt blended with a touch of mayonnaise for tang creates the right texture for a bariatric post-op. Grapes add sweetness and curry powder adds zestiness and snap!

I had a large wooden salad bowl in my office and once a week would assemble the ingredients for this salad. I love the way the cooked egg yolk blends with the dressing when it's tossed. Voila, a smaller batch of goodness that is very easy and quick to make. Lightly brushing warm freshly baked doughnut holes with melted butter and rolling them in Cinnamon and Truvia keeps them soft and moist. They melt in your mouth! I even piped a few with a dab of sugar-free grape jelly. A wonderful Holiday dessert treat.

After you are doing well with eating soft smooth purees you will progress to soft foods which differ in that they are of a consistency what can easily be mashed with a fork. While is can be frustrating to be stuck in these special texture phases, advancing too rapidly into foods that are somewhat dense and hard can cause you to vomit and even result in food getting stuck.

Season's Eatings! It's cute to think of it that way but what you may not realize is that we've entered a time of year that lands many post-ops on top of a slippery slope that ends in a failure to reach the goals they set for the year.
They are sweet and chewy and have zero sugar and lots of flavor. I make them in silicon molds and after an hour in the fridge they pop right out. They are shiny and beautiful and it doesn't matter if you eat every. single. one. of. them.
