Protein keeps us full, fuels weight loss, and gives us long lasting slow burning energy. We all know how it feels to hit the wall at 2 o'clock and protein snacks are the best way to keep moving. Here are some of our favorite bariatric friendly protein mini meals and snacks. We promise you wont get sick of any of these choices.
- Avocado Turkey Lettuce Wraps:
Layer a leaf of either Butter or Romaine lettuce with deli turkey, cheese, and a slice of ripe avocado. The avocado provides the right amount of squish to make it easy to eat and keeps it mayo free!
- Pumpkin Seeds:
Just 1/2 cup of pumpkin seeds has about 14 grams of protein and makes this the perfect anytime snack! Make your own - the pumpkin insides make a healthy little snack once they're washed, dried, seasoned with sea salt and roasted! Here's a great recipe, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
- Sweet Cheese Crepe:
Scramble an egg in a bowl. Pour into a pre-heated, Pam sprayed 6 inch nonstick frying pan and roll it around so the entire pan is thinly coated in egg. Cook 30 to 45 seconds until surface looks dry. Carefully lift the corner to flip - cook a few seconds more. Remove to plate, spoon on a line of ricotta, sugar free preserves, and berries - roll and enjoy!
