Journey 'Gentle' Iron Grape Tablets
More than half of all bariatric post ops are iron deficient. Chewing Ice is a sign of this disabling deficiency. People who are iron deficient tire easily because their bodies are starved for oxygen. Is this you?
When asked why they did not take iron supplements as required, side effects of stomach upset, burning, and constipation were cited. Fear of the side effects of iron is greater than the fear of the deficiency itself.
The 'Super-Charged' Albion™ Ferrous Glycinate used in Journey Grape Melt Tabs has unique attributes that support its superior role as a bariatric iron supplement without the side effects of ordinary iron supplements. Each small, really good tasting, fast melt tablet. grape melt tab contains 20mg of highly specialized, chelated ferrous glycinate.
IMPORTANT: Prescription iron uses a different measurement scale - when you are asked to take 300 IU iron by your doctor, the true amount of iron is 60 mg elemental or 3 Journey Gentle Iron Grape Melts.
Journey Gentle Iron Grape Melt Tabs are designed to battle bariatric iron deficiency or ideally support prevention:
- Gentle Iron is non-constipating
- Recommended by hematologists after IV iron raises critical levels
- Does not react with calcium or block mineral uptake
- no more 'Two Hour Rule'
- Does not cause the stomach burning of cheaper common iron used in bariatric brands
- Tiny neutrally charged molecules slip right through nutrient ports along ENTIRE length of intestine
In their ordinary form, minerals are difficult for the body to absorb through the intestine. Because small protein peptides are easier for the body to absorb, the body will combine the minerals with amino acids to take advantage of the intestines affinity for protein absorption. This binding process is called chelation (key-lay-shun). Albion® patented iron does the stomachs work in advance by binding minerals to amino acids, resulting in small, organic iron molecules that can pass easily through the intestinal wall and into the body.
Directions: As a dietary supplement, adults take one or more tablets daily as recommended by a health professional.*
People stop taking iron or never start because of side effects. We've all heard constipation stories and the words manual extraction in connection with iron. We worked with specialists to find more efficient mineral forms that would work better than ordinary cheap iron under bariatric conditions, but not cause scary problems and Albion® patented iron is the answer.
"This is the iron form recommended by hematologists to maintain iron levels once bariatric patients have had their IV iron infusions or blood transfusions. This Gentle Iron does not cause the same gastric or intestinal distress of other kinds of iron and does not block calcium. Plus chewing a grape melt is EASY!"

People who are iron-deficient tire easily in part because their bodies are starved for oxygen. Iron is essential to the transport of oxygen throughout the body as is a major component of hemoglobin in red blood cells, the primary carrier molecule for oxygen. Iron deficiency can facilitate anemia, which occurs when the red blood cells cannot carry enough oxygen throughout the body.
Clinical studies with Journey's choice of Albion® iron chelates have shown that it improves hemoglobin and ferritin indices at lower dosages than ferrous sulfate or ferrous ascorbate; lower dosages mean fewer side effects and no interactions with other nutrients.
