Fast and tasty! I love Asian flavors and these little meatballs taste like dim sum dumplings or pot-stickers.

Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 1/4 pounds lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup panko crumbs. Measure this carefully! This little bit goes a LONG way for flavor and texture.
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger - or use Gourmet Garden Ginger tube found in the produce section
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 3 scallions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 scallion, sliced

Instructions

  • Gently blend the turkey, panko, egg, ginger, garlic, cilantro, scallions, soy sauce and sesame oil and form into small balls – I use a small metal ice cream scoop to portion, then roll with my hands.
  • Brown in a non-stick skillet 3 to 4 minutes, until cooked through.
  • In a bowl, blend the sauce ingredients – soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and scallion –pour over meatballs in skillet and cook a minute to reduce slightly.

To serve, plate the meatballs in a small pile with long toothpicks nearby. Or use bamboo skewers. If you like you can garnish with sliced peppers & sesame seeds.
