"Big Mac" in a Bowl

This recipe may remind you a lot of a certain burger you ate back in the days before your Bariatric surgery.

You know the one, the only burger in the world with it's own theme song "Two all beef patties, special sauce....". That burger is exactly what this salad tastes like, only it's a meal you can eat whenever you like!

Cheeseburger Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey or Lean Ground Beef
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 1 head Romaine Lettuce, sliced very thin.
  • 1 cup Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Dill Pickle Slices
  • 4 oz Sharp Cheddar, shredded

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, add the seasonings and the group meat and mix well to combine. Cover and set aside for 15-20 min.

In a large non-stick skillet, cook the meat until cooked through and browned. Leave the meat a bit chunky as you cook it.

Drain the meat if needed, set aside to cool.

Burger Salad Dressing, aka The Best Sauce Ever

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 medium (3-4”) Dill Pickles (finely diced)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tablespoon juice from the pickle jar
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Dry Mustard Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Splenda; add half then adjust to your taste when completed
  • Milk (as needed to thin to your liking, this can be a spread or salad dressing consistency)

Best Sauce Ever Directions:

In a mixing bowl, stir all ingredients together.

Add milk by the tablespoon and stir well, repeating when the consistency is where you want it.

Cover and refrigerate 2-3 hours, stir well and serve.

Store remaining amount in airtight container.

When you are ready to serve the salad:

In a large Salad bowl, add the lettuce and toss with tomatoes, pickles, cooked ground meat and cheese with some of the dressing.

Serve with the additional dressing on the side.
